LBEF 2008 Awarded Grants
Proceeds from MandaRUN ’07 funded over $11,000 in innovation grants to 12 different teachers and community members in the LUSD. Grants providing new learning opportunities are:
- $1,200 was awarded to Kari Hazen of Loomis Grammar School for Partners in Technology, technology education partnership with Intel and Hewlett Packard.
- $675 was awarded to Becky Lucas of Loomis Basin Charter School for World Musical Instruments, cultural learning through music.
- $1,000 was awarded to Nancy Turner of Loomis Grammar for WINGS character education & new student assimilation.
- $451.95 was awarded to Dana Swain of Placer Elementary School for First California, Then the World, 4th grade history program.
- $627 was awarded to Carleen Foley of Placer Elementary School for Kindergarten Phonemic Awareness computer program.
- $950 was awarded to Janine Hanson of Loomis Grammar for Kindergarten Guided Reading & Daily Reader Library materials.
- $1,500 was awarded to Cindy Soldano of Franklin Elementary School for Franklin school garden expansion project.
- $2,500 was awarded to Wendy Stralen of Loomis Grammar for Waterford, computer phonics program.
- $306 was awarded to Julie Bills of Loomis Basin Charter School for Mondavi Center Multicultural School Matinee series #1.
- $306 was awarded to Julie Bills of Loomis Basin Charter School for Mondavi Center Multicultural School Matinee series #2.
- $561.42 was awarded to Carla Krueger of Placer Elementary School for 3rd grade Classroom Library materials.
- $1118.10 was awarded to Ruth Shykowski at Loomis Basin Charter School for Life Centered Career Exploration for 7th & 8th Grade Special Ed.
- $750 was awarded to Erika Sloane and Deborah Chew-Smyth for 3rd grade at-risk reader resource materials.
